Kern County Animal Shelter - Mojave

The Kern County Animal Shelter in Mojave is a full-service animal shelter serving the residents of Eastern Kern County. The shelter is used primarily to house and care for dogs and cats, but if needed it can accommodate other animals, including larger domestic animals such as horses, goats, sheep and pigs and exotic pets such as birds, lizards, and rabbits. 


Some services (see list below) are limited to residents who live in the unincorporated areas of Kern County or in the contracted cities of Arvin and Tehachapi.

Licensing and Spay/Neuter Vouchers Hours

Monday - Saturday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Lunch Hour

Closed for lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
