Report Animal Bite

Animal Services investigates bite reports during the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday. (excluding County holidays (PDF))

What Happens After You Report a Problem

Animal Services will investigate all bites. The animal will either be quarantined by the owner or impounded at the shelter for a ten-day period to observe for rabies.

In most cases, your identity and contact information (as the person reporting the issue) can be kept confidential at the department level. The exception is if the matter is subject to a records request.
