Rusty Rose Investigation
Kern County Animal Services is still seeking the community’s assistance in identifying an individual captured on surveillance footage placing an injured dog in a
dumpster in the 3300 block of Niles Street. The incident occurred between 1:40 AM and 2:00 AM on Monday, May 5, 2025. Surveillance video shows an unidentified individual wrapping the dog in blankets before depositing her in the dumpster. This is an active investigation, and we are urging anyone who recognizes the individual in the surveillance video or who has any information related to this case to come forward. To provide information anonymously, the public is encouraged to submit a tip by emailing Animal Services at animalservices@kerncounty.com. We thank the community for helping us seek justice for this animal.
